Folks,
I want to thank you all for your contributions and hard work over the past few weeks. November is a difficult month for campaign fundraising, but thanks to you and our matching donors, we just finished our best month of online fundraising so far this year.
My team and I have a lot to celebrate and be thankful for this holiday season, but for others, the holidays may punctuate an already difficult year with the stress of gift giving and putting food on the table when resources are spread thin.
That’s why I’m reaching out today -- to see if you can help me give back to our local community and lift some folks up who might be having a hard time.
There are a lot of organizations in IL-06 doing work to support our community, but here are a few of my favorites:
- Downers Grove Area FISH food pantry and clothes closet helps make sure that no one goes hungry or cold. You can donate canned goods, warm clothes, or volunteer your time.
- Toys for Tots provides gifts to children in need and you can find a Toys for Tots toy drive in your area to donate or volunteer your time.
- The Salvation Army Angel Tree ensures that children, teens, and senior citizens have gifts to open this holiday season. You can click the link to find a virtual tree, where you can pick a person or family to sponsor, or you can donate directly to the Salvation Army here.
You can find even more ways to give back here.
If it is financially possible for you to donate some money, food, or gifts to these organizations, please consider doing so.
Thank you for everything,
Sean
