Companies set a new record for leased industrial space in the third quarter of over 137.9 million square feet, with over half of companies wanting properties under 100,000 square feet to meet increased e-commerce and last-mile delivery demand, according to real estate investment firm JLL. "With demand for industrial space showing no signs of slowing down, new inventory will be needed to bring supply and demand closer to equilibrium and negate a future shortage of industrial space," JLL executive Craig Meyer said.
