Last week I voted to protect our furry friends by making animal cruelty a federal offense for the first time.

 

Since I was a kid we have always had pets and, as you know, they quickly become part of your family.

 

 

 



 

 

The first thing I do when I get back from working in Washington, DC each week I round up all of the dogs for a long walk.

 

Although we deal with heavy topics like homeland security, healthcare, and national defense, it is important that congress also focus on issues that reflect our values as American families.
