Exploring Abraham Lincoln's Second Inaugural Address

When Abraham Lincoln began his second term as president in March of 1865, the Civil War was drawing to a close. Lincoln believed that if his first term had been dedicated to fighting to preserve the Union, his second term would need to be dedicated to rebuilding the country.
