In that spirit, we’re reaching out to let you know that Javier will be having a joint fundraiser on Thursday, 12/9 with Senadora Julie Gonzales (also previously endorsed by Denver DSA)

Javier is a nonprofit lawyer, Berkeley law grad, and housing advocate who founded one of the only anti-eviction legal orgs in Denver. He worked closely with Senator Gonzales to pass a critical set of protections for renters last session and will fight for racial, climate, and economic justice in future ones! He’s running in HD1 - SW Denver i.e. the area where he grew up - and has first hand experience with housing insecurity as a kid.

Julie Gonzales is a progressive champion in the state Senate who has spent her life organizing working people, Latinos, and young people on issues of affordable housing, educational justice, and immigrant rights. In her first three years in office, she strengthened protections for immigrant communities from ICE, repealed the death penalty, advocated for increased environmental protections for disproportionately-impacted communities, and allocated hundreds of millions of dollars for affordable housing. She’s running for re-election in SD34, which is north and west Denver.
