Holiday Self-Care: Managing Your Mental Health

The Holiday season can bring many moments of joy and togetherness. It can also be a very challenging time for us as we navigate family dynamics, memories and expectations, so it’s no surprise that our mental health can be negatively impacted as a result. This workshop will help you develop a plan to safeguard yourself and your health.

 


The Career Center

The Career Center offers a comprehensive suite of online programs and services that help entertainment industry and performing arts professionals to identify and find sideline work and discover new careers outside the industry.

Get started by attending The Career Center Orientation (Monday or Thursday session) to enroll in the career services offered. Once you've done that, you can enroll in workshops including Career Journey*.

Financial Wellness online workshops and seminars increase your financial knowledge and help you learn the tools and skills to support lifelong financial health and stability.

Health & Health Insurance

The Actors Fund offers personalized health insurance counseling and enrollment support, referrals to health care resources and seminars on how to care for yourself.

You can also join us for Welcome to Medicare and Every Artist Insured: Getting Affordable Coverage in NY/NJ During COVID-19.

The Friedman Health Center for the Performing Arts, our primary and specialty care health center, is open for appointments. The Health Center accepts most insurance plans, including commercial insurances, several Marketplace/Exchange plans, Medicare and Workers’ Compensation. Call 212.930.7300 for an appointment.

Housing

The Actors Fund operates several affordable housing residences across the country, and also offers resources to help you learn more about affordable housing opportunities and other housing-related issues you may encounter.

Our Housing Connect 2.0 Tutorial will help applicants navigate New York City’s latest housing lottery system, understand changes to the process and show you how to set up a new profile. If you haven't already, we recommend that you participate in our Applying for Affordable Housing webinar as a prerequisite.

With respect and understanding, our professional social workers offer our community help to address a wide array of challenges via online and phone counseling and support groups, education and practical help—completely free of charge.

Notify NYC is a new program from the New York City Office of Emergency Management designed to keep you up to date about emergencies and services that impact all New Yorkers, whether it’s at home, work or in the community.
