A Note from Chrissy

November was jam-packed and I want to loop you in on the highlights! I spent time in Glasgow for the U.N. Climate Conference, helped pass an historic infrastructure bill, showed off our district to a delegation from Japan, celebrated Veterans Day, and hosted U.S. Labor Secretary on a workforce development tour of Chester County. Here’s what I want you to know about my work right now:

Rep. Houlahan says infrastructure bill vital to economy

Last month, I voted to pass the landmark bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and I was pleased to see President Biden sign it into law. This bill makes critical and long overdue investments across our Commonwealth to repair and rebuild roads and bridges, modernize our ports and airports, improve public transit, improve climate resiliency, and make needed updates to our passenger and freight rail systems. I know we can build a better tomorrow, together – and this infrastructure bill is a great start.

From Capitol Hill:
Houlahan Visit to U.N. Climate Change Conference

The science is clear: Climate change is one of the greatest threats of our time. This month, I traveled to the United Nation’s 26th climate conference, COP 26, to discuss climate action with other leaders. We agreed that confronting the climate crisis cannot be treated as a sustainability OR a business issue – we must consider both together. It will take all of us.

Daily Local
Local officials to speak at free breakfast for veterans in Exton

My father and grandfather both served for more than 30 years in the U.S. Navy, and they instilled in me the spirit of service that motivated me to raise my right hand, too. If there’s one thing veterans understand, it’s that service never stops, so for Veterans Day, I spent time at a breakfast honoring servicemembers, as well as reflecting on all the ways I’ve fought (and continue to fight) for veterans in the House of Representatives.

From Capitol Hill
Houlahan Hosts U.S. Labor Secretary Marty Walsh in Visit to Chester County

I had the honor of hosting U.S. Labor Secretary Marty Walsh on a whirlwind tour of some of the best workplaces of Chester County. We talked about expanding nursing educational opportunities to meet the demand for nurses – as well as policies supporting veterans entering (or reentering) the civilian workforce. Secretary Walsh also recently announced that the Department of Labor will award two Chesco employers with HIRE Vets Medallions. I am so proud of the way our community stands up for veteran workers.

That’s it for now, but stay tuned for more updates on my fight for working families in the Commonwealth and across the nation.

And, while it's somewhat out of the ordinary in Washington, I take time every week to call back constituents who've contacted our office. These conversations keep me grounded in the most urgent issues facing our community. I’d love to hear from you, too!

There is work to be done.

While Chrissy is focused on delivering progress in the House, fundraising is the last thing on her mind. But the GOP is already eyeing our critical battleground – and amid Republican gerrymandering, the GOP just named Chrissy one of their top targets for a blue-to-red flip. We must strengthen our resources early to make sure we can defend this purple district come 2022 – so we’re asking for her:

Will you make a donation to help reelect Chrissy to Congress? Your support will make such a difference in our work to defend this critical Pennsylvania seat and keep the House blue.
