Dear Partners,
As we prepare for the Senate to vote on the Build Back Better package, it's crucial that we continue to keep up the drumbeat to ensure major priorities, like prescription drug reform, remain strong and are included in the final bill that is signed into law by President Biden.
Please join us TODAY from 12:00 – 12:30 PM ET for a 30-minute Twitterstorm to push Congress and the White House to pass the strongest version of the Build Back Better bill!
Sample social media for the Twitterstorm is below:
- There is no doubt that should this landmark bill remain strong – and get even stronger – as it moves toward passage, it will radically improve the lives of millions of Americans once it becomes law. Now Congress needs to follow through and pass #BuildBackBetter. Our families deserve it. [insert image]
- What can most people in America, regardless of political affiliation, agree on? The cost of #HealthCare in this country is absurdly high. Congress has the opportunity to alleviate these high costs for America’s families by passing the #BuildBackBetter bill.
- [insert org. name] urges Congress to pass the #BuildBackBetter bill as soon as possible and get it on @POTUS’ desk. America’s families are in dire straits and need the help that the provisions in the bill would provide.
- [insert org. name] applauds the inclusion of key health care provisions in #BuildBackBetter like allowing #Medicare to negotiate #RxPrices and covering people in states that didn’t expand #Medicaid. Congress, keep working & get #BuildBackBetter to @POTUS’ desk quickly!

- Given the importance of elevating reproductive health this week, we also want to share our new resource Advancing Health Equity Through Improved Access to Patient-Centered Contraceptive Care. This paper shares the latest patient-centered outcomes research to help state decision-makers improve contraceptive access, decrease rates of unintended pregnancies, better address personal contraceptive needs and improve women’s overall health.
- Families USA will also host a webinar on December 15th at 3pm ET to discuss the findings from the report, an overview of the state and federal policy contraceptive care landscape, and examples of how advocates are working to advance contraceptive equity at the state level.
