I'm Congressman Steny Hoyer, and I am proud to endorse my friend Anthony Brown to be Maryland's next Attorney General.


For decades, I’ve worked alongside Anthony to improve the lives and livelihoods of Marylanders. Through his service in the Maryland General Assembly, as Lt. Governor, or on the Floor of the United States House of Representatives, Anthony has demonstrated tireless efforts as a champion for the well-being of families, civil rights, and equal justice for all. His leadership and legal skills are attested to by his service as Vice-Chair of the Judiciary Committee in the House of Delegates and as a Harvard-educated lawyer who chose to apply those skills in the U.S. Army. 





He’s never backed down from the hard fights, continuously pushing for what’s right and what our state needs to move forward and to remain the best place to live, work, and raise a family.


Anthony has long been on the front lines advocating for equal rights in Maryland and throughout our country. He’s spoken out about the need to correct historic injustices. He fights for our public servants and for the many Marylanders who work as federal employees. Moreover, Anthony has always made the centerpiece of his service a commitment to ensuring that families and children have every opportunity to thrive and access opportunities to get ahead.


I have been proud to stand alongside Anthony in these fights over the years. He has been a steadfast partner and friend as we’ve worked to advance the progress that our state deserves. I know that Anthony will be a wonderful Attorney General for our state and will continue his long record of service to the people of Maryland through success in that critical office.
