Until every veteran has an ID...

Today, we're continuing our veteran spotlight series with Gary.



Gary is a veteran with a long history of homelessness. He was receiving housing assistance through a homeless veteran program but lost his ID. The debit card on which he receives benefits was stolen and multiple replacement cards were requested but not received. Without an ID, Gary couldn't access the money from his retirement checks. He also needed an ID for supplemental employment. Gary's ID cost a total of $72, which put it out of reach for him on his own. 

How many more veterans like Gary are out there? It's impossible to know the exact number but we do know that it's a widespread problem and #FreeIDsForVets is one of the solutions.
