John,

Choice is under attack right now. Sign my petition demanding the Senate protect it ASAP!

Today, the Supreme Court began hearing a new case against reproductive choice that will determine whether or not Mississippi’s 15-week abortion ban is legal, and it could mean the end of Roe v. Wade as we know it.

Thanks to Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell, the Supreme Court currently has a 6-3 conservative majority, and Justices Brett Kavanaugh, Neil Gorsuch, and Amy Coney Barrett have already signaled they’re open to more restrictions on choice.

During oral arguments, Kavanaugh suggested the court should potentially be neutral on the issue, which would mean overturning Roe v. Wade, and Barrett wondered why pregnant women who don’t want to raise a child can’t just opt for adoption, which completely ignores the legitimate dangers, trauma, and costs of childbirth.

There’s no other way for me to say it: This is bullshit, John.

Conservatives want to roll back the clock on reproductive rights, potentially leaving people like you and me with less freedom than the women who came before us. It’s absolutely backwards.

But Congress can stop this. Last September, the Democratic House majority passed a law to codify Roe v. Wade into federal law — which my opponent Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick opposed — defending every person’s right to choice. We just need the Senate to pass it for it to become law.

Let’s urge our Senators to take urgent action to defend choice by passing the Women’s Health Protection Act ASAP! Add your name to my petition now.

I hope you’ll join me in taking action and raising your voice in defense of our reproductive freedom before it’s too late.
