The Supreme Court just finished hearing oral arguments in the case of
Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization — a case related to
Mississippi’s recent abortion ban, and one that directly challenges Roe v.
Wade.

This is the first time the Supreme Court will rule on the
constitutionality of a pre-viability abortion ban (a ban on abortions
before a fetus can survive outside of the uterus) in nearly 50 years.
Pre-viability is at the core of the Roe v. Wade decision.

If Mississippi’s abortion ban is upheld and Roe v. Wade overturned, dozens
of states are likely to act quickly to significantly curtail or entirely
eliminate the right to legal abortion.

The Court
has made clear that it isn’t on the side of the people, so Congress must
lead. We need to codify Roe v. Wade as the law of the land, and the best
way to do that is to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act. Ayanna has
been at the forefront, winning the fight to pass this bill in the House —
but now we need it to pass in the Senate.

[ [link removed] ]That’s where you come in. A $3 contribution from
you today will send our Senators a powerful message that support to codify
legal abortion care for all is stronger than ever. Can we count on you to
make a $3 contribution right now?

2021 has been the worst year on record for abortion access^1, as
right-wing lawmakers have sought to curtail the rights of women and
pregnant people from coast to coast. Yet, the majority of Americans
support legal abortion and do not want Roe v. Wade overturned.^2

The Court is expected to issue a decision on the Mississippi ban in the
summer of 2022 — which means we’re running out of time to codify Roe v.
Wade and pass the Women’s Health Protection Act.

[ [link removed] ]Please rush a $3 contribution — or any amount you can
afford — right now to urge the Senate to pass the Women’s Health
Protection Act.

Thank you for stepping up today.
