Friend,

Today we were at Fort Sill, Oklahoma with United We Dream Action members, our partners, and local activists, protesting the opening of yet another concentration camp by Trump’s Deportation Force that will detain and incarcerate immigrants and their children. Together we blocked the highway and chanted with resounding drums for all to hear: Close the Camps NOW!

But the fight doesn’t end here, friend. We need to keep bringing attention to these camps and demanding that they are closed immediately! Help us prepare for our next action now:

The history behind this location at Fort Sill is already haunting. Not only is it the site of an internment camp where Japanese Americans were detained during World War II, but it’s also the same location where indigenous people of the Apache tribe have been imprisoned, with generations of indigenous youth forced to assimilate at the fort’s boarding school.

Fort Sill has a history of white supremacy and we could not remain silent about the ways in which this location has been used, historically, to imprison, torture, and kill people of color. That’s why it was essential to us that we create this strong coalition of voices bringing together their history and experience with concentration camps and family separation.

When immigrants, undocumented people, and people of color are under attack, this team is always going to answer the call to action and rise to the fight. Now we need your help to keep going.

Thanks for all you do.
