John -
Today, the Supreme Court heard arguments on the dangerous Mississippi abortion ban.
Well, I was the Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court.
So, let me share an expert opinion: access to safe and legal abortion is a constitutional right.
The landmark Roe v. Wade case established this more than 50 years ago and the Supreme Court has affirmed it many, many times.
So what makes this case different?
Even though the Supreme Court has upheld Roe before, the fact that they are even hearing this case is a sign that reproductive freedom is at risk.
And the Mississippi law is just one of over one hundred laws states passed this year to limit abortion rights.
These attacks on our fundamental freedoms are unAmerican and dangerous — which is exactly why we must speak out.
Will you join me in calling on Congress to protect abortion rights by codifying Roe v. Wade?
To make that a reality, we need to bring the same energy we have here today to the ballot box.
These attacks aren’t going to stop until we elect leaders who are strong enough to stand up to them.
I'm running to be that leader in the U.S. Senate, and I will not back down from any fight to protect our rights.
