Hi John,
I just wrapped up my weekly meeting with our finance team, and I wanted to pass along a quick update:
Yesterday was our end-of-month fundraising deadline, and we set a goal to raise $20,000 by the end of November. Unfortunately, we came up $3,020 short.
While our campaign often reaches our fundraising goals, we don't meet every single one. But John, this is one we just can't afford to fall short of.
There are a lot of plans that our campaign wants to start investing in — building our volunteer program, hiring more staffers, and registering and connecting with voters who traditionally don't make it to the polls. And with redistricting on the horizon, we'll have to introduce Jamaal to even more new voters, many of whom are less left-leaning than our current constituent base.
If we want to be successful in all of this, John, we need to lay the groundwork before 2022.
We're so, so close to reaching our goal, and truthfully, the stakes are too high to not do everything we can. I'm also meeting with Jamaal tomorrow — and I'm hoping to give him some good news, and share that we did indeed reach our goal.
Thank you,
Luke Hayes, Campaign Manager
