John,
Today as the Supreme Court began hearing oral arguments around Mississippi’s unconstitutional abortion ban, I was protesting with dozens of others for this action organized by the Center for Popular Democracy Action.
We were protesting SCOTUS even agreeing to take up this case, as the Mississippi ban so clearly violates the protections of Roe v. Wade. And as we understand it, this is the signal that the court is willing to overturn or dismantle Roe.
I was arrested, along with our Director of Communications and Digital Engagement, Sara Tabatabaie, and Director of Partnerships, Jennie Frishtick. I am proud to support abortion providers by putting my body on the line for reproductive rights and justice.
We are in the fight of our lives for abortion access, and we will continue to fight on behalf of the millions of people who are being directly harmed by abortion bans and restrictions. Add your name and help us send a message to keep these bans off our bodies.
Our Constitutional right to an abortion has been under attack for decades, and right now the precedent of Roe v. Wade is likely to be overturned by a radically right-wing Supreme Court.
We are in direct opposition to the court emboldening the overly funded anti-choice minority, which may be loud, but does not reflect the prochoice majority in our country.
I am outraged at the criminalization of abortion and decimation of reproductive freedom that we’re seeing in places like Texas, and we will not stop fighting for our rights.
The Supreme Court is no longer — and has never truly been — a reliable source of protection for our right to an abortion.
To truly preserve and expand reproductive freedom, we need to focus on exactly where the bans originate: the states.
We will continue supporting prochoice champions in state and local elections because they are our most important line of defense against these increasingly severe attacks.
This is a prochoice nation, and no matter what the Supreme Court does, we will continue to #VOTEPROCHOICE to protect our reproductive freedom.
Stand with us by adding your name here.
In solidarity,
