Team,
I have some good news. Thanks to everyone who chipped in what they could, we surpassed our 2021 Giving Tuesday goal! Every dollar raised goes directly toward fueling our Black voter engagement efforts in the New Year, and I want to say thank you for your support.
I'm so proud of our team, and what we've accomplished together. If we keep up the momentum, I know we can end this year stronger than ever before and put us in a prime position to register even more Black voters in 2022.
Today also happens to be Rosa Parks Day. It was over 60 years ago today that activist and freedom fighter Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat and "sat down" for her rights on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama.
Rosa's decision to demand equity in a racist society sparked a movement that led to the Montgomery Bus Boycott and the end of segregated public transportation. Today's anniversary is a time to recommit to the fight for racial justice and to remember the power we have to create change.
Rosa didn't end legal segregation on her own -- she had the NAACP, activists, and hundreds of years of pent-up resistance on her side. Like Rosa before us, we need to lean on each other and work together to resist injustice and fight for equity.
Thank you for your support and for your activism. Together, we will win.
