Last night I met with the Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng and Energy Minister Greg Hands (who was in the North East today) along with several other MP's from constituencies across the country who are affected by Storm Arwen.

This is a very serious situation, and over the past four days, emergency teams have been working tirelessly to restore power in affected areas.

I have received the below statement from Northern Powergrid regarding compensation and financial assistance.

My team and I are in constant dialogue with constituents, alongside daily meetings with Northern Powergrid to raise specific and urgent issues with vulnerable customers. I am also in contact with the County Council and emergency services to provide specific assistance.
