<[link removed]> November was a busy month for ConservAmerica, but we were pleased to take a pause last week to reflect on how grateful we are for our many partnerships in the community and our champions on Capitol Hill <[link removed]> who are advocating for commonsense policies that protect our shared legacy – the environment. We thank you all for your continued support. As you’ll see below, there is no shortage of activity and we have added new members to our Board of Directors to scale our organization’s geographic reach and impact. As we approach 2022, we look forward to building on our efforts to reach sustainable and pragmatic solutions that address some of our most pressing challenges with the benefit of their experiences. We expect December to be another busy month. Don’t forget to find ConservAmerica on Twitter <[link removed]> and Facebook <[link removed]> for updates, and keep an eye out for upcoming <[link removed]> webinars. We wish you a wonderful holiday season and hope you enjoy this time with your friends and family. On November 23, ConservAmerica hosted an online discussion on the role of competition in electricity markets and the environmental benefits of removing barriers to market entry for independent power producers. The bipartisan bill passed the Senate on August 10 and the House of Representatives on November 5, 2021. “A lot of hard work went into this infrastructure bill, and we applaud the members of the Roosevelt Conservation Caucus, particularly Sen. Rob Portman, Sen. Lisa Murkowski, and Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, whose good faith efforts ensured the final bill combined the best ideas from both sides of the aisle,” Kupfer said. And that was certainly the case with the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which passed the Senate on August 10 after several months of negotiations, led in part by members of the Roosevelt Conservation Caucus, including Sen. Rob Portman, Sen. Lisa Murkowski, and Sen. Shelley Moore Capito. As a result, the package represents a smart plan that provides a down payment on America’s long-neglected core infrastructure in a way that will boost and sustain our economy. And as you would expect, the vast majority of Americans agree with that approach. According to a recent Manufacturers' Accountability Project poll <[link removed]> , even among households who want to prioritize fighting climate change, only 13% believe that it is very important to sue companies. So as we move past Glasgow, it’s essential to look ahead – to focus on results. Common sense and innovative solutions that leverage the private sector, not lawsuits that attack them, will make a real difference. And that’s how we should define success. The interview was originally published Nov. 13.
