Hi John,
To kick off this December, I wanted to celebrate one last November win by speaking with Amber Sellers, the first Black woman to be elected to the Lawrence City Commission in Kansas.
Her story is one I think will resonate with many in our community. Sellers spent months looking for and attempting to recruit someone to run for an open seat, but after months of conversations with many would-be candidates, she realized she could do it -- even if she was afraid, and it meant putting herself out there. So John, you can too!
Tune in this week to learn how Amber found the courage and strength to overcome her fears, run a successful campaign for office, and how she is planning to use her voice to be a catalyst for social change.
