IAN Library Updates Bring New Content for Advocates
Since the beginning of September, our AmeriCorps VISTA has been updating the Nonprofit Library on the Immigration Advocates Network site. So far, she has updated the VAWA, U Visa, and T Visa sections. This involved reviewing many different materials and selecting for materials that were comprehensive and up-to-date. Curating these folders was an interesting process — on one hand, since the applications are only available to victims of serious and oftentimes traumatic crime, engaging with the relevant materials was a somber experience. On the other hand, she was really excited that the work enabled (in fact, required) her to learn so much about different aspects of immigration law and pathways to relief for immigrants. Now, she is working on the Community Engagement and Empowerment section of our library, which includes more plain language, community-facing resources.
