Dear Friend,
Today, the conservative-majority Supreme Court began hearing oral arguments in the most consequential abortion rights case in decades. This case could overturn Roe v. Wade, meaning abortion access in Florida could fall into the hands of the Republican-controlled state legislature.
Earlier this year, Republicans in Florida introduced a Texas-style abortion bill that would ban abortion at six weeks. In the upcoming legislative session, we are guaranteed to see more bills aimed at restricting reproductive rights and abortion access. If Roe is overturned, the consequences will be dire.
If the Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade, abortion could be banned or severely limited in half of the United States, particularly in the South and Midwest. The effects will be devastating.
Every person should be able to make their own decisions about their health and their bodies. We hope you’ll join us in one of the most important fights of our lives.
