This is hard to believe, John: Last night was our end-of-month fundraising deadline – by far the most important of Nevada's Senate race so far – and we fell short by $26,218.

Every goal is important, but this was one I really couldn't afford to miss. Top election analysts recently downgraded my race to a toss-up, and Nate Silver's FiveThirtyEight now says we're in serious danger of losing Nevada. On top of that, recent polling shows me trailing my far-right, Trump-endorsed opponent by 2 points.

Missing yesterday's goal means we're starting off December without the resources we need to fight back against GOP attacks, and that could very well cost us this race – and our razor-thin Democratic Senate majority. John, can I count on you to rush $5 right now to close the gap on this critical goal and help defend our Senate majority?

The GOP knows Senate control hinges on this seat, so they are all in to flip Nevada red. Outside groups have already spent more than $2 million to defeat me – and that's just a drop in the bucket compared to the $50 million they spent in 2016. 

But our campaign relies on small-dollar donors – like you, John – not deep-pocketed dark-money groups, so missing goals like this one takes a huge toll. If we can turn this around before midnight on Friday, it'll put us back on track to defend Nevada's Senate seat – and our Democratic Senate:
