You stepped up yesterday to help us smash our goal.

John — As I reflect on this year, I could not be more grateful for the visionary leadership of domestic workers and their fierce resilience — and to you, for accompanying us on every step of our fight.

The women of this workforce have made clear, compelling demands for long overdue investments in the care economy that would enable them to do the work they love, while affording security for their own families.

Those demands have been heard: the House passed the Build Back Better Act which includes unprecedented funding for child care, paid family and medical leave, and home and community based care for the aging and people with disabilities, including funding to raise wages and improve the conditions of care work. And your support has been instrumental in getting us to this moment.

Together, we have been leaving it all on the field with hardly a moment to gather ourselves before the next hurdle, the next deadline, as we push to win. But you’ve stuck with us, through every email, text, and call to action. You’ve called, tweeted, given...and then given some more. And you stepped up big for us yesterday, on Giving Tuesday, helping us smash our goal.

I am thankful for you.

I am thankful for your partnership in this work, your continued investment in this effort, and your ongoing commitment to this movement. The energy I’ve seen from this community has been inspiring — I truly have no words to express how much your support means to me, to NDWA.

You’ve been there with us, every step of the way, and with the finish line in sight for the Build Back Better bill, I’m looking forward to working together to win. Because I know that, together, we are more powerful and more resilient. We are determined. And I believe we will win.
