This fight to transform our criminal justice system is my life’s calling. And our work is SO far from done.
Working Families Party

I have some really exciting news to share with you, John:

Starting this week, I am thrilled to be teaming up with the Working Families Party to help power their work to support and elect progressive, decarceral prosecutors across the country!

WFP combines movement building with decades of electoral know-how to make real change. You can see that in their support not just for my campaign this year, but for a movement of transformational District Attorney candidates nationwide — a new generation of reformers who are dedicated to undoing decades and centuries of harm and ending mass incarceration across this country.

And next week, we have an opportunity to elect one of those reformers: Chesa Boudin as San Francisco’s next District Attorney. Chesa is a public defender like me, and he has been deeply affected by the criminal justice system his whole life. He spent his childhood visiting his parents in prison, where he saw first-hand how mass incarceration tears families apart and disproportionately targets people of color. He’s running for DA on a platform to end cash bail, crack-down on predatory landlords, and better fund treatment and alternatives to incarceration.

Can you contribute to help WFP turn out the vote for Chesa Boudin next week and support elect more criminal justice reformers like him across the United States?

When I ran for Queens District Attorney, so many said I could never even compete against the entrenched political machine in New York. But the Working Families Party took a chance on me — a queer Latina, a former public defender from a working-class family. And together, we sent shockwaves through the entire political establishment.

This fight to transform our criminal justice system is my life’s calling, John. And our work is SO far from done.

I strongly believe that the way we will truly transform our country and end mass incarceration is through relentless grassroots organizing in the communities most directly affected by systematic oppression.

I can’t wait to get to work with WFP to help grow this incredible movement by supporting and electing District Attorneys like Chesa Boudin — and even more transformational candidates in 2020 and beyond. Can you join me?

Chip in to join me in supporting the WFP’s work to elect decarceral DAs like Chesa Boudin who will transform their communities and our country.

Together, we really can stop decades of harm and work to ensure safety and justice for every community.

More soon,

Tiffany Cabán
