Readings of the Day
[link removed]

Since my office is located in my parish church building, today's Psalm
response rings true for me in a very tangible way: "I shall live in
the house of the Lord all the days of my life."

However, "the house of the Lord" is really much more. Ephesians
2:19-20 tells us that we are "fellow citizens with the holy ones and
members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the
apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the capstone.
Through Him, the whole structure is held together and grows into a
temple sacred in the Lord; in Him you also are being built together
into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit."

This is the spiritual house into which we invite our clients, whether
for food, comfort, guidance or healings as described in today's
readings. Jesus blesses and multiplies whatever we offer to share,
beyond what is needed! Like the people in today's Gospel, let's be
sure not to waste the leftovers.
