Write for Rights 2019

Hi John,

For many people around the world, speaking out against injustice, standing up for equality and fighting for freedom means risking violence, imprisonment and even death. Others are abused simply for who they are.

That is why, every year, we ask people all over the world to take part in Write for Rights.

What is Write for Rights?

We ask our supporters to send messages of hope or take action to support people who find themselves under threat, or who are attacked for standing up for human rights.

Last year, hundreds of thousands of people around the world took part in Write for Rights 2018, sending nearly 6 million messages of support to individuals and appeals to those in power.

This year’s campaign focuses on remarkable young people around the world: some facing human rights violations, some standing up for their own rights, others defending the rights of their communities.

I’m in, I want to help! What can I do?

Getting involved in the campaign is simple. Every week, we will send you a case that we need your help on. You can take actions or write your messages online following the links we’ll include in the emails.

By sending an email, signing a petition or posting a letter, you can make a huge difference. Your words, together with those of others around the world, will not only show those at risk that they are not alone, but can also persuade people in authority to address cruelty and injustice.

Together we can show young people around the world that we stand with them.
