This is the only email you'll receive from me today, so I hope you'll take a moment to read it.
John,
I'm emailing you only one time today to ask if you'll please consider chipping in $5, or anything you can, before our end-of-month fundraising deadline tonight at midnight.
I know you've received a lot of emails from our team lately, but the truth is running for Congress is hard work — especially when the far-right has named our campaign one of their top targets.
One of the hardest parts for me is asking folks like you for your hard-earned dollars to support our movement. I know that donating to a political campaign is a luxury I couldn't afford in the past. But please know that every dollar directly goes to organizing for St. Louis, setting up our office, and hiring staff to keep control of this seat.
We don't accept a single cent from corporate PACs and unlike many of my colleagues in Congress — I don't rely on billionaire friends to fund my work. It's because of grassroots donations from folks like you that we're making historic progress pushing the needle on issues including racial justice, workers' rights, health care, and so much more.
Right now, we're just a handful of donations away from hitting our November fundraising goal. That's why I must ask before midnight:
If you can, will you please donate $5 or more to help close the gap on our fundraising goal before our end-of-month deadline tonight? We're just 3% short — so your donation could be the one that helps us over the finish line.
Chip in $5
You might not think $5, $10, or $25 goes a long way. But the truth is there is a lot of power in folks like you chipping in however much they can, as often as they can. If we keep working like this, putting our donations together — we’re confident we can transform our politics and bring transformative change to our communities.
I'm ready to continue doing this work, but I can't do this alone. I need your support as we organize and legislate in Congress for an agenda that puts people first. Will you chip in $5 to help us reach our end-of-month goal tonight?
Thank you for all of your support.
Your Congresswoman loves you,
Cori
