So many stories, so many veterans in need.
Dear Friends,
Today, we want to introduce you to Theodore, another veteran who inspired our #FreeIDsForVets campaign.

Theodore is a 75-year-old homeless veteran who relocated to Florida last year. Because he never had a Florida ID before, he needed his birth certificate to get it. Our Spread The Vote colleagues figured out what documentation Theodore could use to order his birth certificate, assisted him with doing so, and paid the $30 fee. Theodore got his ID, which enabled him to establish state residency, receive assistance with housing, and apply for food stamps.
Sadly, there are countless veterans out there in the same position as Theodore. That's why we need states to provide free IDs for veterans. It's something most of us likely take for granted but for too many, it's the difference between shelter and sleeping on the street.
