John–
We don't have to live like this, and our children and educators shouldn't have to die like this.
Today's school shooting that killed three people and wounded at least eight others at Oxford High School in Oxford Township, Michigan, is yet another heartbreaking reminder of how life-saving action to end gun violence can no longer wait.
Our hearts are with the families and survivors impacted. Recovering from grief and trauma is a lifelong journey and the lives of survivors are forever changed.
We know that if guns everywhere made us safer, we'd be the safest country in the world—instead, thanks to NRA-backed lawmakers, we have to fear gun violence wherever we go.
Moms Demand Action, Students Demand Action, and Everytown have never backed down from the hard work it will take to end gun violence.
With an established volunteer chapter in every state of the country and Washington, D.C., our volunteers are demanding urgent action from our elected leaders, engaging with voters to support gun safety at the ballot box, and organizing their own communities every single day to prevent more gun tragedies.
Together, we can build a future where students no longer have to go through active shooter drills at schools, where guns are no longer the leading cause of death for America's children and teens, and where we can all learn and play and worship and go about our business free from the fear of gun violence.
Thank you for being a part of this movement,
