I’m heartbroken, John.
We did not spend a year keeping our children home to protect them from a virus, just to send them back to school and see them gunned down in their classrooms. Enough is far more than enough – we cannot go on this way.
|
Our teams are closely monitoring the reports out of Oxford, Michigan right now and more details are being released by the minute. But here’s what we already know: There are common-sense, majority-supported, life-saving bills we could pass right now that would prevent another tragedy like this school shooting from ever happening again. The NRA and its bought-and-paid-for politicians just don’t care enough to pass them.
|
This is not the time to sit on the sidelines, John. That’s why we say so often that we have to move faster, do more, raise more resources. To fight back against the deadly inaction that leads to people – to our children – dying. Brady has a comprehensive plan to make that happen and address gun violence in all its forms, but we’re a nonprofit organization. We rely on grassroots support from folks like you to make tangible change in this country.

Brady set an ambitious Giving Tuesday goal to raise $125,000 by midnight tonight because the stakes were already high. Now, with this news from Michigan, it’s clearer than ever that the stakes aren’t just high – they’re rising every minute. So please, we don’t have a moment to waste: Can you chip in right now to hit our Giving Tuesday goal – every dollar will be doubled before midnight – and finally stop the NRA’s cowardice, prevent gun violence like we saw today, and save lives?

Thank you, John.
