Lauren Boebert is under fire for suggesting that Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar might be a suicide bomber and referred to her as a member of the “jihad squad.”

It would be easy enough to dismiss these bigoted remarks as a cheap way to grab headlines and rally her base for donations. But Lauren went beyond stale racist humor, she called Congresswoman Omar a terrorist.

A terrorist. Imagine committing treason on live television and less than a year later having the gall to call someone else a terrorist because of the color of their skin. While Omar was in Washington on January 6th doing the job the voters of Minnesota elected her to do, Boebert was inciting an insurrection in a violent coup attempt. American blood was spilled and there have been almost half a dozen copycat attacks on the Capitol since.

Who’s the real terrorist in this scenario?

Boebert’s insinuation couldn’t be more obvious: Muslims are terrorists, white insurrectionists are patriots. That’s unacceptable. If you attempt to disrupt law and order with violence and fear you’re a terrorist. Point blank. We could regale you with facts and expert opinions about how in this decade domestic terrorists pose a far greater threat to Americans’ wellbeing than foreign ones, but we don’t have to.
