John, 

Threats from Kansas Republicans to redraw Congressional maps and split the Kansas City community loom large this week as final fall redistricting town halls take place. This gerrymandering could place parts of Wyandotte County in the expansive "Big First," the district that covers the majority of the western part of the state, jumbling together the needs of residents in Kansas' most diverse county and those of Kansans in rural areas on the opposite side of the state, resulting in worse representation for all.

Once again, we see Kansas Republicans grabbing for power instead of looking out for the best interests of their constituents. Should the Kansas GOP successfully redistrict Wyandotte County out of the Third Congressional District, they would be tearing apart a community that is bound together in numerous economic, political, and cultural ways.
