Honoring The Waukesha Victims
I can't imagine how the people of Waukesha must feel, particularly those who lost a loved one in last week's vicious, racist attack. Some families have buried loved ones and seven children are still in the hospital.
The city observed a moment of silence Sunday to remember the victims of this horrific domestic terrorist attack committed by an avowed black supremacist. The names of the dead are:
Wilhelm Hospel, 81
Virginia Sorenson, 79
LeAnna Owen, 71
Tamara Durand, 52
Jane Kulich, 52
Jackson Sparks, 8
After George Floyd suffered a wrongful death at the hands of Minneapolis police officers, streets were renamed after him, as were school football fields. In many communities across America flags were flown at half-staff. The GoFundMe fundraiser for the Floyd family was among the most successful GoFundMe events ever, raising nearly $15 million.
The good people of Waukesha aren't receiving the same "compassion." These good and decent people were just beginning the Christmas season with their annual traditional parade when they were brutally attacked. But no schools or streets will be named after them. No Hollywood star or Jesse Jackson wannabes will speak at their funerals.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said that President Biden has no plans to visit Waukesha. In fact, she seemed to suggest it would be too much of a bother, requiring "a lot of assets and resources."
There has been an outpouring of love and support for the Waukesha victims by their fellow heartland Americans, who know what it is like to be despised and smeared, while everything they love is mocked.
The Divided States Of America
Faith runs deep in Waukesha, and patriotism is sky-high. This is the kind of community that sends its sons and daughters to fight America's wars. But almost no one on the left gives a damn about them or their dead loved ones.
In fact, their deaths are an inconvenience for the ideological left because it interrupts the narrative that the only hate in America lives in the hearts of people like those in Waukesha. They're supposed to be the bigots because they reject the left's narrative that America is evil.
Even though Joe Biden smeared Kyle Rittenhouse as a white supremacist, no such evidence was ever presented at his trial because it doesn't exist.
In the case of the domestic terrorist in Waukesha, who killed more people than the Boston Marathon bombers, the evidence of racism was all over his social media. He hated Donald Trump, he railed against America and he despised white people.
But that evidence was erased as quickly as possible. Who erased it? Why was it so important that America not know what motivated Darrell Brooks as he mowed down our fellow citizens at a Christmas parade?
Do any of the coastal elites, who claim to be our betters, care one whit about the people who died in Waukesha? I'm sure their staffs issued perfunctory statements, but I don't recall seeing Kamala Harris, Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer on any news shows condemning the atrocity.
Hardly a day goes by when left-wing progressives don't put their disdain for Middle America on full display. Did any of them take to Twitter or Instagram to decry the blatant racism of Darrell Brooks?
Joe Biden promised to unite the country. He's failed miserably. In fact, polling shows most Americans feel Biden is making things worse.
Those of us who align with the values of Middle America must stand together. We must let the people of Waukesha know that we appreciate them, we are mourning with them, and we are praying for them.
"Race Baiting" Goes On Trial
Three years ago, Jussie Smollett, a rising star on a popular TV show, called 911 to report a very unlikely crime.
Smollett, an African American and open homosexual, claimed that he was attacked by two Trump supporters in liberal Chicago around 2:00 in the morning, when the temperature was well below freezing. Smollett claimed he was out in the extreme cold at 2:00 AM trying to get a sandwich at Subway.
Nothing about Smollett's story seemed believable. But immediately, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Cory Booker and scores of Hollywood celebrities and news outlets assumed Smollett's story was true. They eagerly cited it as evidence of the hate in Trump's America.
But it wasn't long before Smollett's story unraveled. Surveillance cameras enabled police to find two Nigerian immigrants, who were known to Smollett. They told police that Smollett hired them to rough him up so he could claim he was attacked.
Why should Smollett's antics matter three years later?
His hatred for conservatives, for white Americans and Donald Trump could have sparked racial violence in America. He told the young minority Americans who watched his show that he was beaten and had a noose put around his neck by white Trump supporters. It was a disgusting lie, done to stoke racial tension and to further demonize conservative Americans.
To realize the seriousness of it, just reverse the narrative.
Imagine that a prominent white actor filed a false police report that he had been accosted by two black men on the streets of Chicago yelling, "This is Obama country!" Once it was discovered that the report was completely false, I guarantee it wouldn't take three years to go to trial. This person would be condemned for his racism and held up as the face of white supremacy in America.
So, here's to hoping that there's justice in the trial of Jussie Smollett. He deserves significant punishment for his intentional efforts to stoke racial hatred in America.
We've had two encouraging court cases in recent weeks -- the acquittal of Kyle Rittenhouse and the conviction of the three white men in Georgia who killed Ahmaud Arbery. Both verdicts were examples of justice done. Both verdicts showed we are not the racist nation the left claims.
If a jury finds Smollett guilty, it will be another example that the American justice system is working.
Biden's Chaos
In addition to crushing COVID and uniting the country, Joe Biden also promised to restore America's leadership around the world. He's failing on all three counts.
-
Over the weekend, communist China flew 27 warplanes into Taiwan's airspace.
-
Russia has massed nearly 100,000 troops on Ukraine's border.
-
Moscow was caught trying to foment a coup in Ukraine.
-
Belarus, an ally of Russia, is weaponizing migrants to destabilize Poland.
The Biden Administration warned Russia of "serious consequences" if it further escalates tensions with Ukraine. What does that mean? Maybe Joe Biden shouldn't have approved Putin's pipeline after all.
Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett is furious. In a statement released as the new nuclear talks resumed, Bennett declared:
"Iran deserves no rewards, no bargain deals and no sanctions relief in return for their brutality. I call upon our allies around the world: Do not give in to Iran's nuclear blackmail."
Here's what the left doesn't understand: Biden's appeasement of Iran, Russia and communist China does not make war less likely. This weakness invites war.
