Kaiser Health News: "The Fate Of Medicaid In Louisiana Could Hinge On State's Gubernatorial Race"

Friends,

There's more at stake in this election than ever before. Kaiser Health News recently warned that the fate of Medicaid could hinge on this race. That's because my opponent, Eddie Rispone, has promised to repeal Medicaid expansion if he's elected. With the health and well-being of Louisianans at risk, we cannot afford to lose.

Expanding Medicaid was one of my proudest - and easiest - decisions as governor. The results speak for themselves: 450,000 Louisianans secured health coverage, and we cut the uninsured rate in half. Plus, expansion has led to 19,000 additional jobs, and it's prevented rural hospitals from closing.

I proudly stand by my decision to expand Medicaid because I know something that my opponent apparently doesn't: The well-being of our state depends on the well-being of our people. If our citizens aren't healthy, everything else will fall apart.

Friends, maintaining and improving our state's well-being depends on saving our Medicaid expansion, and saving our Medicaid expansion depends on us beating Eddie Rispone on Nov. 16. With national GOP interests pouring money into this race - not to mention Rispone's own wealth - this is shaping up to be a close election, and every dollar counts. I've set a goal to raise $8,000 by midnight - and if you believe in defending our Medicaid expansion in Louisiana, I'm counting on your support right now:

Please, rush $5 or more right now to beat Eddie Rispone, protect Louisianans' health care and keep our great state moving forward.
