** Advocate for a Truly Independent Press This Giving Tuesday
------------------------------------------------------------
============================================================
Dear Media Activists,
Every time someone is given access to accurate information, democracy strengthens. At FAIR, we believe shifting power from the elite few to the majority starts with making independent and truthful sources of information accessible to all.
Meanwhile, corporate media continue to ignore climate conflicts of interest, misrepresent polling data, tout the military industrial complex and praise those who are stymieing progress. From pushing Democrats to move to the right to stoking inflation fears, corporate press continues to obscure the truth. FAIR is working to set the record straight.
** Help us reimagine a future without media conglomerates or corporate interests controlling the news. Donate to FAIR today to help us reach our $65,000 fundraising goal by January 1. ([link removed])
In 2021, we saw disinformation threaten national security, public health, the economy, the climate and more. Even as the corporate press continues to profit off of division and confusion, we look forward to the next year with the hope that FAIR’s mission—a mission we’ve pursued since 1986—continues to inspire more people to become critical media consumers.
There is an absolute need to keep a critical eye on media efforts to dismiss progressive voices demanding desperately needed change.
** But we can’t do it without you. Donate today to help FAIR continue its work into 2022. ([link removed])
We take pride in keeping our operation bare-bones. Most of our support comes from individual donors like you.
As a thank-you for your donations, we’re offering two gifts. The first is FAIR’s special edition 35th anniversary T-shirt featuring a design by Kim Balthazar-Fetsko that appeared on our October 2011 issue of Extra!. Shirts are union-made in the US.
The other is a tote bag, made from eco-friendly material by a vendor affiliated with the Fair Labor Association. On one side is FAIR’s logo. The other side reads, “Corporate news: rich people paying rich people to tell middle-class people to blame poor people.” This durable and handy tote allows you to take FAIR’s message with you wherever you go.
** Join the fight for truth. ([link removed])
With Gratitude,

And our interns, Dorothy Poucher, Jasmine Watson & Adam Weintraub
