Help Prepare Your Teens to Live in and Impact Their World
|
|
At the school where I teach, I’m always impressed by the energy and enthusiasm of our students. You can feel it in the hallways, in classroom discussions, at social events. These kids are passionate. They want to storm out into the world and transform it for Jesus Christ. It’s an exciting atmosphere, and as teachers, we wouldn’t have it any other way.
But what does it really mean to go out and impact the world for Jesus? My students and I often wrestle with this question. As I talk with these aspiring world-changers, I’ve noticed how easy it is to focus on the big, “top-down” sorts of goals — the same principles and priorities the world values.

Cultures in Conflict
How do you live in a culture where the worldview conflicts with Christianity? In the latest volume of our That the World May Know series, you’ll learn from the apostle Paul as he presents his beliefs to the Greco-Romans of Corinth, who valued wealth, worship of multiple gods and decadent pleasure-seeking above all else. (includes DVD and discussion guide) |

Winning Your Inner Battles
Did you know that the average person has 500 negative thoughts every day?
There’s a narrative in your mind about who you are and what you’re worth. Some of it — perhaps a lot of it — is critical:
- “Why’d you do that?”
- “You’re so stupid.”
- “Nothing ever goes right.”
- “No one could ever love me.”
Sometimes we’re our own worst enemy. We have habits, behaviors and emotional triggers that we wish could be different. But they’ve been part of our lives for so long that change seems impossible.

Harriet (PG-13)
She was given the slave name Minty Ross, but we know her better as freedom fighter Harriet Tubman. She journeyed more than 100 miles to escape her masters, but Harriet wasn’t satisfied with freedom for herself. If others were still in bondage, then something had to be done.
