Dear John,

When Farm Sanctuary began 35 years ago, the idea of a compassionate world where animals are treated as someone rather than something seemed like a far-off dream. I spent many nights sleeping in the barn to look over our rescued animals, because I knew that even this small act of kindness made a difference.

Please, don’t miss the opportunity to have your gift matched this Giving Tuesday. When you join Farm Sanctuary before midnight tonight, you’ll make DOUBLE the impact on the lives of farm animals. Can we count on you to help us meet our $40,000 match goal, John?

For every farm animal we’re able to rescue, there are many more waiting for protection. I, and the hundreds of farm animals who will benefit from your caring generosity, thank you for stepping in to help.

Best,

Gene Baur
President & Co-founder

DOUBLE YOUR GIFT

Dear John,

I’m up bright and early this Giving Tuesday, and I’m thrilled that we are a little closer to reaching our goal of raising $42,986—the cost of one day’s life-saving work at Farm Sanctuary.

I’m excited to share some great news: A generous donor has agreed to match every donation made today—up to $40,000—to ensure we reach our goal. And we’re relying on our most dedicated supporters to get us across the finish line by midnight.

I know you envision a life of peace and freedom for every farm animal, John. That’s why I hope you’ll join Farm Sanctuary TODAY to create a compassionate world tomorrow. Every dollar you contribute before midnight tonight will be matched and go TWICE as far in helping vulnerable farm animals across the country.

Your gift today will help us meet our $40,000 match and will immediately be put to work rescuing, sheltering, and protecting farm animals.

Every day, we get up ready to get to work—but today feels extra special.

As our Shelter team goes through the morning routine—feeding the animals, dispensing life-saving medication, ensuring everyone has clean water, and refilling mineral supplements—I am filled with gratitude for your continued support, and the peace and freedom you’ve created for our more than 800 Sanctuary residents.

Those residents include steers like Orlando, who came to Farm Sanctuary over a decade ago. We rescued Orlando from a fetid barn where he was underweight, dehydrated, and sick. He had been purchased at auction, along with 10 other calves, for cheap beef production. But when the herd fell sick, their owner denied them care—instead opting to shoot them, one by one.

By the time authorities intervened, just 5 of the 11 calves survived. But Farm Sanctuary got them the emergency care they needed and brought them home to our New York shelter. Today, Orlando is a big, strong, yet goofy gentle giant who loves his herd and his human friends—and we love him right back!

John, will you join Farm Sanctuary before midnight tonight with a 2x matched Giving Tuesday gift? With your help today, we can continue transforming the lives of animals like Orlando—and immediately get to work protecting the animals who still need our help.

Thank you, in advance, for being someone farm animals can rely on this Giving Tuesday.

Yours for farm animals,

Megan Watkins,
Chief Executive Officer

DOUBLE YOUR GIFT

P.S. On this most important fundraising day of the year, please consider joining Farm Sanctuary to help meet our critical $40,000 Giving Tuesday match. You can help stop the suffering of animals like cows raised for dairy, who are continually impregnated in order to produce as much milk as possible each year—and who endure immense pain from this unnatural overproduction. In addition, by switching to a non-dairy milk alternative like almond or oat milk, you can take small steps that make a big difference for farm animals.

P.P.S. When you become a Farm Sanctuary member, you will receive exclusive benefits including a free subscription to our member magazine, opportunities to sign petitions, updates on urgent rescues, and access to book the cabin and cottage accommodations at our New York shelter. Will you join Farm Sanctuary today?
