I've heard from a lot of folks who are extremely worried about the future of abortion access. It makes sense —
tomorrow, the Supreme Court hears arguments in a case about a Mississippi abortion ban that could mean the end of the right to abortion protected by Roe v. Wade.
The question people ask is:
“What can I do to support patients if that happens?”
And my answer is always the same: Don't wait until it happens. Act now. Because it's what we do in this moment that will ensure we are ready for what comes next, no matter
what comes next.
Are you ready to do your part right now?
Chip in before midnight and double your support — all Giving Tuesday gifts up to a total of $100,000 will be matched.
The truth is, the abortion access crisis isn't something that may happen — for far too many patients, it's a reality right now.
We see that in Texas, where the very early ban has put abortion out of reach for most Texans. Those who can afford it are forced to use precious time and resources to travel out of state to access their constitutional right.
We see it in places where patients face barriers and burdens — like waiting periods and mandatory ultrasounds — and where providers face laws designed to shut them down.
We see it again and again as vulnerable patients slip through the cracks of our broken health care system. Rural and low-income communities that lack local providers. Black, Latino, and Indigenous young people who are less likely to have good health insurance. LGBTQ+ patients who face discrimination and denial of care from health care providers.
This is not a hypothetical crisis. This is the reality now, today. And we can't wait to fix it. We can't wait for it to get worse before we act.
Please, make your gift right now to defend access to abortion and other reproductive health care. Give before midnight and your donation will be doubled.
We know we have difficult times ahead, and Planned Parenthood is doing everything we can to prepare for what comes next. And we will be counting on your continued commitment, no matter what happens at the Supreme Court.
But there are patients who are cut off from care right now — and they are counting on you, too. So don't wait — click here to chip in.
Thank you for everything you do to support Planned Parenthood and the patients who rely on us every single day.
Sincerely,
Alexis McGill Johnson, President & CEO
