The stakes are high for the world’s children. In Afghanistan, a country plagued by violent conflict, the spread of COVID-19, severe drought and food shortages, an estimated 3.2 million children under the age of 5 are expected to suffer from acute malnutrition by the end of this year. Without immediate treatment, at least 1 million children are at risk of dying.
The crisis in Afghanistan is just one of many putting children in danger around the world and, with 75 years of experience, expansive reach and trusted expertise, UNICEF is the organization best equipped to keep them safe. But we need your help.
As resources remain in short supply and children’s needs grow, every minute and dollar counts. We’re calling on your support to ensure that UNICEF has the capacity to protect children now and in the new year.
