I’m Danielle Ehsanipour, the Director of Lifeline here at The Trevor Project. My team and I offer support, compassion, and acceptance to LGBTQ young people in crisis.
Friend of Trevor,
24 hours a day, 7 days a week, Trevor’s trained crisis counselors answer calls, chats, and texts. One of our Lifeline counselors, Belamy, recently spoke with a 7-year-old child.
“I remember it very distinctively because they were so young,” Bellamy recalled. “They had come out, weren’t accepted, and felt they had no other choice but to complete suicide.”
The Trevor Project is the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning) young people.
