Hi there,
Here at Special Olympics, we hope to help our athletes undergo their own personal transformation, supporting them so they gain confidence, practice strength, and improve skill through sports. For these athletes, participation in Special Olympics programming goes beyond just winning or losing – it requires a steadfast belief in their preparation, trusting their teammates, and pushing themselves to new heights.Â
We’re proud of this work. We’re proud of the communities we’ve fostered, of the way that Special Olympics participants and families look out for each other.Â
Unfortunately, the past two years have been a difficult period of transformation. Work became work from home, birthday parties turned into Zoom meetings ... and as you likely know, we’ve had to severely cut back on the in-person events that have been the lifeblood of our movement since Eunice Kennedy Shriver founded Special Olympics in 1968.
Yet even with the abrupt pause to business as usual, Special Olympics has been able to reach millions of athletes in each of the last two years. And next year, as more athletes return to the field, we know we can do even more. Today, for Giving Tuesday, your support can be DOUBLED, with gifts of $25 turning into $50 and donations of $75 turning into $150: Can we count on your support today?

Since our inception in 1968, Special Olympics programming has helped create a strong sense of community for individuals with intellectual disabilities (ID)Â
And in addition to our world-renowned athletic programming, Special Olympics is a key player – in fact, the world’s largest player – in providing health services for individuals living with ID. This means that your generous gift provides the funds necessary for Special Olympics to train doctors and facilitate free health exams for our athletes. The necessity for these services has been amplified over the past year, as our athletes are at increased risk of being impacted by COVID-19.
Your gift today of $25 allows us to expand our reach, connecting more individuals with intellectual disabilities to valuable health services like dental and vision screenings. Better yet – when you give today, your donation will be matched in full. This means that whatever you can give will be doubled, and so will the impact you make on our athletes.
New teammates are always welcomed! Support Special Olympics athletes with your gift of $25, $50, or even $75 today – your generous gift will go twice as far. >> [link removed]
As you celebrate the holidays this year, we hope that you will keep Special Olympics athletes in your minds and in your hearts. Your gift today helps build memories, achievements, and friendships that will last a lifetime.Â
Thank you for your generosity and support,
Your friends at Special OlympicsÂ
