It's been 48 years, John. Roe has been the law of the land for 48 years to protect a pregnant person's right to safe and legal abortion.

1971: United States v. Vuitch was the first case about abortion reached the Supreme Court.
1973: Roe v. Wade becomes law of the land
2021: Texas Governor Greg Abbot signs into law the most conservative abortion ban in 48 years
2021: The Supreme Court with a conservative super-majority will hear arguments that challenge Roe
2022: THE FUTURE OF REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS ARE HANGING BY A THREAD

In the 1960s and 1970s, we took charge of our paths and fought until Roe was codified into law. Together, we were so powerful that politicians had no choice but to grant us bodily freedom.

But NOW never left that fight--and unfortunately our rights are still up for debate.

Today is #GivingTuesday and one of our members--Judith Marks Ford--is fundraising to support the work of the NOW Foundation. For her, this fight is personal. She had an abortion in 1969 before it was legal, and she’s determined her children and grandchildren won’t experience the danger she faced back then.

Donate today and Judith will match every dollar up to $5,000!
