Plus Zoom seminar happening today

Dear John,

Please consider donating to the Nonhuman Rights Project today on this global day of giving and support our unique mission to achieve meaningful, lasting legal change in the lives of nonhuman animals. Help us reach our goal of raising over $25,000 to make this our biggest Giving Tuesday yet!

Since our founding, the NhRP has stood firmly by our mission with the knowledge that meaningful, lasting legal change for nonhuman animals can only come about in one way: fighting for the recognition and protection of their fundamental legal rights. In just a few years, we’ve made tremendous progress as we confront thousands of years of nonhuman animals’ rightlessness.

Earlier this year, the NhRP and the nonhuman rights movement as a whole reached a significant and historic legal milestone: for the first time ever, the highest court of any English-speaking jurisdiction agreed to hear a habeas corpus case brought on behalf of a nonhuman being, with the New York Court of Appeals agreeing to take up the case of our elephant client Happy. It is with supporters like you—who know the law has yet to catch up to what’s right and who are willing to be a champion for nonhuman rights—that we have been able to make this progress.

If you are in a position to do so, please donate to the NhRP this Giving Tuesday to support us in our unrelenting push for meaningful legal change in the lives of nonhuman animals and a more just world for all.

For today only, those who donate $1000 and over will receive a signed copy of NhRP Founder and President Steven M. Wise’s book Rattling the Cage.

Thank you for caring and for making a donation today.

Kevin Schneider
Executive Director, the NhRP

P.S. A reminder to please join us live on Zoom today at 12 p.m. PT/ 3 p.m. ET when NhRP President Steven M. Wise, NhRP Director of Government Relations and Campaigns Courtney Fern, and NhRP Development Director Mickey Suzuki will recap the year’s accomplishments. Click here to register.
