At Alliance for a Green Economy, we go toe-to-toe every day with corporate energy companies, the fossil fuel and nuclear industries, and powerful trade organizations that perpetuate resource extraction and profiteering.
On Giving Tuesday (and through the end of the year), we ask supporters like you to help fund the fight for a sustainable future ([link removed]) .

Our small but mighty organization has a big impact. Here are a few of our recent accomplishments:
* Together with allies, we won concessions ([link removed]) from every major upstate gas utility to either decrease gas sales or keep gas sales flat. These rate case victories set the stage for the future of utility compliance with New York’s climate laws!
* We helped over 150 homes and businesses go green in Central New York! Since its inception, the HeatSmart CNY campaign ([link removed]) has helped community members lower their carbon footprint by either replacing the heating system with a ground source or air source heat pump, switching the water heater to a heat pump water heater, or installing insulation and air sealing measures. Sixty-two of our participants are low-to-moderate income households.
* Last week, we helped negotiate an agreement ([link removed]) from Exelon Corporation, the owner of the four Upstate NY nuclear reactors, to shave 40 years off their decommissioning timelines for these reactors, provide an additional $15 million in decommissioning funds, and include several other public interest protections.
