Marion Medical Mission is an ecumenical, Christian, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization sharing the love of Jesus with our brothers and sisters in Africa by providing a sustainable source of safe drinking water.
Since 1990, we have built over 45,000 wells in remote villages in Malawi, Zambia and Tanzania, providing over 5 million people with clean drinking water! At each well, the village is told their well is special because Christians in the U.S. shared the love of Jesus with them.
We partner with the African communities. The village makes the brick and provides the sand, stone, and unskilled labor. We supply only what the villagers cannot: the cement, Mark V galvanized steel pump, PVC pipe, and skilled African well builders. Our well is sustainable because it is one the rural poor know how to maintain and can afford to maintain.
For every well donation of $450, we mail a photo of the specific well funded to the donor, along with the village information.
