Growing up, skating gave me an outlet to build strength and confidence and to connect with a greater community. This Giving Tuesday, I’d like to highlight an organization I’m proud to be part of that is working to transform the lives of girls on and off the ice through academics, leadership and, of course, figure skating.

 

Figure Skating Detroit (FSD) prepares girls and young women daily for the skills and character building they need to succeed in life. FSD is important to so many girls' lives as it helps them grow in confidence, leadership and academic achievement. 

 

 

Figure skating is all about learning how to dust yourself off, get back up and try again, and to never give up, even in the face of adversity. FSD inspires me and so many to grow and evolve and to become the best we can be.
