In the event that you need more convincing to click the donate button ([link removed]) and make your gift right away, I’d like to share my top five hopes for WOLA in 2022:
1. In 2022 I hope that with continued pressure and diligent conversations, the Biden Administration will grant access to seek asylum at the U.S.-Mexico border so that the United States treats all those who come to us seeking refuge with dignity.
2. In 2022 I hope that we will see real and consistent progress in the Colombian Peace Accords being honored and adhered to in all the ways that were intended at their signing in 2016.
3. In 2022 I hope for Latin America to stop rising authoritarianism. I hope WOLA will convene and lead a large regional debate and exchange ideas with all our partners across the Americas on ways to rebuild democracy in the face of authoritarian leadership.
4. In 2022 I hope that WOLA will increase and deepen our work with the progressive feminist community across Latin America; to lift women and girls even higher than we have before.
5. In 2022 I hope to see so many of you in person! I truly cannot wait for this.
