This week Population Matters is raising funds for its 30th Anniversary
Appeal - the final push to achieve our £100,000 target by the end of the
year - and GIVING YOU THE CHANCE TO HAVE YOUR DONATION DOUBLED.

As part of The Big Give Christmas Challenge, we have secured matched-funds
totalling £5,750 from five of Population Matters' brilliant supporters,
and want to add twice that amount to our anniversary appeal by the end of
the week. Please can you help us match our pledgers' generosity?

December, when your donation will have twice the impact at no additional

WHY GIVE?

Population Matters is THE ONLY CHARITY IN THE UK CAMPAIGNING TO ACHIEVE A
SUSTAINABLE HUMAN POPULATION, to protect the natural world and improve
people’s lives. We promote POSITIVE, PRACTICAL, ETHICAL SOLUTIONS –
encouraging smaller families, inspiring people to reduce excessive
consumption and helping us all to live within our planet’s natural
limits.

YOUR GIFT WILL BE DOUBLED by our generous pledgers to help spread the word
that making more sustainable choices, including choosing a smaller family
where possible, is vital to MAKING A BETTER FUTURE POSSIBLE for everyone
– every person and every other being on our shared planet.

Globally around 270 million women have an unmet need for modern
contraception, most of whom live in poorer countries. On the flip side, in
the richest parts of the world consumption, resource use and carbon
emissions per person are far greater. Despite such INEQUALITY AND CLEAR
SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE of per person impact, global governments have plans to
FIX THE CLIMATE CRISIS that exclude population growth as a driver, and
women's empowerment and access to family planning as a solution.

YOUR GIFT WILL BE DOUBLED by our generous pledgers to help catalyse action
to empower VULNERABLE COMMUNITIES across the world (especially
disadvantaged women and girls) and help spread the word that THE CHOICE TO
HAVE A SMALLER FAMILY can ensure a better future for the generations that
follow.

The Big Give Christmas Challenge is the UK’s largest match funding
campaign. Last year, thanks to generous supporters like you, the campaign
raised over £20 million for participating charities. This year, donations
will be matched pound for pound for 7 days*, until 12 noon GMT on Tuesday 7
December.
