The U.S. and Iran have begun talks to revive the nuclear deal.
The Iran nuclear deal, known formally as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), was agreed to in 2015 and placed temporary 10-15 year restrictions on Iran’s nuclear program. The JCPOA also called for a halt to Iran’s advanced nuclear enrichment activities and ballistic missile tests in exchange for sanctions relief, such as unfreezing financial assets.
The U.S. formally left the Iran nuclear deal in 2018 during the Trump administration amid accusations that Iran was violating the agreement with its enrichment activities and missile development, in addition to using the economic boost it received to increase its support for terror groups.
Do you think the Iran nuclear agreement can be reinstated by all sides?
